Rush Tops Couric

Popular conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh just signed a deal with Clear Communications, the radio giant that puts his show on the air for a reported 8 yr deal worth $400 million. This paycheck is believed to be larger than the 4 major network anchors combined income. The Rush Limbaugh radio show is broadcast every where from Seattle, WA to Key West, FL via it's Clear Channel affiliates daily at 12 noon. In recent yrs, El Rushbo has even been heard by our troops overseas via the Armed Forces Radio Network. Rush Claims to "exercise broadcast excellence behind the golden EIB microphone". Rush's legions of fans refer to themselves as "Ditto Heads" and often wait over an hour (if they can even get to a screener) for the opportunity to speak with Rush. Many believe that Rush although still very sure of himself has gained considerable humility after dealing with a pain pill addiction following a surgery to correct a hearing problem.

Harry Reid "Coal Makes Us Sick" Part II

I was somewhat dumbfounded at the Senators comments and feel that he may truly be on the road to loony land. I expect this kind of spewing from people like Michael Moore, but when this comes from a senior senator, it's frightening. He speaks of things like solar power as an alternative. Sen. Reid, I don't think anyone is opposed to alternative forms of energy such as solar and wind (except Sen. Kennedy who doesn't want to see them). Reality is that in the interim we must have sustainable and adequate oil and gas until such time as these alternatives have been worked out to such a degree that they are deployable, affordable, and safe.

Now for the celebrity response I mentioned. Dennis Miller, a regular on the Fox News Channel and weekly feature on the No Spin Zone featuring Bill O'Reilly, recently gave his thoughts on what he thought of Sen. Reid's statements. Mr. Miller can word things in way that is uniquely Miller. Mr. Millers thougths on this matter can be viewed here.

Harry Reid "Coal Makes Us Sick" Part I

reSenate Majority Leader Harry Reid while recently on the Fox Business channel went on a rant about how coal, oil, and other fossil fuels makes us sick. Sen. Reid then went on to say that everyone in sick because of all the carbon were putting into the air and that it causing global warming, which by his estimation, you guessed it, makes us sick.

Well Sen. Reid, you want to know what makes me sick? This guy and his buddies ,who we are beholden to for the lions share of our petroleum needs. And thanks to people like you and House Leader Pelosi we are virtually crippled from doing anything about it at home. Credible science has shown that substantial oil deposits are located right here at home. There is enough oil in AK alone to significantly reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
